Workshops

I enjoy sharing my knowledge about knitting and the joy of making things by hand. Knitting is a craft that has been passed down from generation to generation – and in many families, that tradition has been lost. I’d like to do my part in bringing that knowledge back into communities.

I offer knitting workshops for kids and adults, from complete beginners to knitters who want to expand their skills. Most workshops take place in South-Western Vermont. Other locations may be possible upon request.

Beginner Workshops

These workshops are designed for people who are new to knitting or would like to revisit the basics.

Participants will learn about yarn and materials, the difference between Continental and English knitting, casting on and binding off, how to read a knitting pattern, and how to knit a simple first project or small garment. The focus is on building confidence and enjoying the process of learning something new.

Technique Workshops

For knitters who already know the basics and want to explore new techniques. Possible topics include cabling without a cable needle, improving Continental knitting technique, knitting in the round with DPNs or magic loop, and Italian cast-on and bind-off. These workshops are hands-on and designed to help knitters build their skills step by step.

Project Workshops

Some workshops focus on a specific small project, so participants can learn new techniques while making something they’ll actually keep. Examples include a small knitted plush toy (such as a cat or bear), beginner projects worked in the round, and small accessories that introduce new construction methods.

Individual Classes

I also offer individual lessons or small group sessions tailored to specific interests or skill levels.
